I obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1973; a Doctor in Psychology Degree from the Graduate School of Applied Psychology, Rutgers--the State University of New Jersey; an internship in Clinical/Community Psychology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1993; my license to practice psychology in NJ in 1995. 

My initial training was as a General Nurse at the Johannesburg General hospital in 1966. 

I have undertaken advanced training in solution focused and narrative approaches at the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee and at Dulwich Center in Australia. My most recent trainings were in parenting and grief counseling.

I obtained a Specialist Certificate in Cyberculture by the Online Therapy Institute in 2016.  

With more than thirty years of experience in practice with children, adolescents, adults and their families in South Africa, Greece, Australia and America, I now enjoy how online sessions have  brought  new connections and participants to the family sessions! Introduction to pets have been such fun!

 My training in child play therapy; group, family and marital therapy,; cognitive behavioral therapy; narrative, brief and solution focused therapy have all led to the the development of skills and tools that may useful when applied to various problems.

My specialty is children adolescents and families in addition to general practice. I am in network for most insurance companies including Horizon, BCBS, Aetna, UHC, UBH, Cigna and others. Out of network fees are negotiable. 

 Recent continuing education on grief counseling has been invaluable in current situations where so many people have to cope with suffering and loss. 

Buddhist teachings and skills such as breathing and meditation are so helpful in oppressive situations where it sometimes feels like nothing can be overcome or changed.

 Overall the cornerstone to my approach is to facilitate collaborative conversations that focus on preferred directions for the future and possibilities and options as to how these may be accomplished.
