My approach to therapy is to talk with you in ways that open space for the exploration and discovery of solutions to what bothers you. I regard being with clients as a privilege. It is essential that I listen with compassion and understanding as you describe your problems and their relationship to partners, families, friends, schools, colleges and workplaces. You share your ideas on what you would like to see changed and how that could happen. We discuss who needs to be involved in the process including, with your consent, teachers, school counselors, , your primary doctor and your psychiatrist.
We discuss alternative, diverse and creative options to solve the problem; some that might have worked for you in the past or could be considered for the future. I could also draw on my own professional and personal experiences though my life journey, where travel through so many places and perspectives may contribute, as is appropriate to your situation.
Collaborative therapeutic conversations help us to look at what brings you to therapy in a more relational, connected, inclusive and systemic way.
